WHO IS THIS GUY?
Me? I'm Matt. Born, bred and living on the North coast of
Northern Ireland, one of the most beautiful places in the world.
I graduated from secondary education in 2009 and now I'm a full time youth worker, working with Pais NI as their media manager, and doing freelance design in my free time. I guess you could say that I'm a busy guy, but I live for the late nights and early mornings and have a passion of giving 110% in everything I do.Design is a great passion of mine and I truly believe that it can make the world a better place. WHAT'S 'FALLEN DESIGN' ABOUT?
'Fallen Design' started with a realisation- Our world is broken."We are all fallen people observing a fallen world"
Something deep within us doesn't sit right when we think about the world. We were born into a world where poverty and injustice go unopposed and people lie homeless on our streets. We feel that we were made for more than "the American Dream" but don't know what. We seem to have lost our purpose. We are fallen.Fallen Design is part of my response to this truth. The name reminds me that I am part of this broken world but also that I need to do something about it- that my life and work have a purpose. Design to me is about more than fonts, colours, textures and layouts. It is a part of me- a reflection of the creator of creativity!
The site tag line reads "Design for a new world". As I said, I believe that design can change the world, but in truth, I believe that we ALL have gifts and passions that can change the world. Howard Thurman once said,
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
I believe that one life can change millions and that EVERY life has a great purpose. As such, I leave you with this final thought; great people have always believed in great things. My question is this: What do you believe in? And will it change the world?
